Theatr Gwaun

FFwrn

Theatr Gwaun is a communtiy owned independent theatre / cinema kept going by funders, local volunteers and loyal members. It is very hard to keep a venue like this going and we are very proud in Fishguard to have something like this on our doorstep, putting on films and theatrical shows throughout the year.

You are guaranteed a seat and all the seats have an excellent view of the stage. There is a bar and you can take your drinks into the auditorium.

This year Aberjazz is using Theatr Gwuan as the venue for two amazing concerts.

The first is Ma Bessie's Speakeasy - turning the clock back to the early days of jazz and one of 1930's blues, when Bessie was the most popular female blues singer, nicknamed the "Empress of the Blues". She was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1989.

This show brings the excitement of the 1930's jazz scene back to life will be brought back to life with a six-piece band lead by Ma Bessie (Julia Titus) on vocals.

The second concert brings you the music of another jazz great from the 1960s' and 1970's, legendary jazz trumpeter, bandleader, and composer Miles Davis.
